How to listen well
Volume, headphones, posture and session length that actually work.
Set the volume first
Start quieter than feels right. A frequency session should sit just above the room, not fill it. If you can still clearly hear yourself breathe, the level is about right.
Bright tones above 500 Hz are perceived as louder than low ones at the same measured level. GSS automatically reduces their gain, but keep those sessions shorter and quieter than a 432 Hz session.
Headphones or speakers
Headphones are required for binaural-style sessions, because the effect depends on each ear getting a different tone. For everything else they are optional.
Low tones under 100 Hz often disappear on phone speakers and small laptops. If a 50 Hz layer sounds like silence, your device simply cannot reproduce it.
Length and posture
Ten to twenty minutes is plenty to notice something. Thirty to sixty minutes suits background work, study or sleep. There is no benefit to pushing through discomfort for a longer number.
Sit or lie in a position you can hold without adjusting. Let your jaw and shoulders drop. You do not need to empty your mind — when you notice you have drifted, return to the tone.
Takeaway
Quiet, comfortable, and shorter than you think. Consistency beats intensity.
