Safety, honesty and when to stop
The boundaries GSS holds, and the ones you should hold too.
Stop signals
Stop the session if you feel dizziness, ear pressure, headache, ringing, nausea or rising anxiety. None of that is something to push through, and none of it means the session is working.
If you have a hearing condition, a seizure disorder, are pregnant, or are managing a medical or mental-health condition, talk to an appropriate professional before extended listening.
Context matters
Do not use immersive or binaural sessions while driving or operating machinery. Background masking at low volume is a different situation from a focused session with your eyes closed.
Keep sessions with children shorter and quieter than your own, and stay in the room.
How to read claims anywhere
Ask three questions of any frequency claim: is this describing the sound, my perception, or a promised outcome? Who benefits from me believing it? What would change if the number were slightly different?
GSS aims to be a place where the honest answer — that a lot of this is tradition and personal experience — is the answer you get.
Takeaway
Comfort first, honesty always. Stop when your body says stop.
